New Sunrise Properties, Inc.
The mission of New Sunrise Properties, Inc. is to increase the housing available to citizens of Lorain County who are mentally ill, homeless, low-income or otherwise needy by providing them with the opportunity to obtain safe, decent, affordable and permanent housing. The agency owns and manages over 200 units of housing throughout Lorain County. The housing types include scattered site duplexes, apartments, condominiums and single family homes.
Special Needs Housing
Special Needs Housing is designated for individuals and families who are referred through a mental health network agency. Applicants must meet 508 certification, be homeless and/or low-income. Case management services are provided by the Nord Center or Far West Center to assist in recovery.
Oberlin Affordable Housing Project
The Oberlin Affordable Housing Project is the new construction and immediate purchase of eight (8) single family homes on scattered sites in the southeast quadrant of Oberlin. Project applicants must be able to obtain a mortgage through USDA Rural Development and/or the Ohio Housing Finance Agency, and complete a HUD or equivalent home buyer’s training. Two (159 & 183 Groveland) homes are available for purchase.
